In 1994, I was a Jim Carrey fan, which is probably true of 100 percent of 10-year-old boys. Loved the first Ace Ventura. Loved The Mask, even though Dorien’s green face gave me one of only two nightmares that I remember ever having. Dumb and Dumber was going to be the crown jewel, the movie that would make him the world’s biggest movie star.

On DandD’s opening weekend, I was visiting my grandparents with my dad and the rest of his side of the family. We decided to go to the movies to pass some time, and because my dad is a good dad, he agreed to take us to see Dumb and Dumber.

I’m wonder if it was during the cutting Lloyd’s toenails scene or the diarrhea scene that he most regretted bringing grandma with.
